XRL (1.10) Overview
XRL (1.10) provides the following enhancements in addition to maintenance:
Additional Serducts
XRL will now ship with Serducts (links) for Opera II Small Business, Enterprise and Enterprise SQL, Sage Line 50, including support for version 12, and Operations II.
General Enhancements
Enhancements have been made to the system security. Users can be restricted to only access certain products – particularly useful where you have installed a number of serducts and staff do not need to access everything. Additionally, the XRL Menu (and Toolbar) has changed – please spend a little time to familiarise yourself with the new layout:
The top items in the menu show that there are now Wizards available for both Queries and Reports. These will prove most useful for new and inexperienced users and will show how to extract data into Excel in a number of simple steps.
A new item in the menu is Zero Suppression. If you have a long listing report with a number of zero entries, this function will compress the report by eliminating a line or column which appears to have no transactions. You also have an option to Undo this.
Data Send now has a Progress Bar.
Vision Cache has been replaced by Optimise Summary Links. This feature will benefit any users who have large reports which contain many Summary Links, as recalculation of the report is dramatically improved.
Query Form Enhancements (Detail Report, Summary Link, Data Link and Summary Report)
System Administrators can decide which items are displayed in the Selection List by user, Selection List now features a Collapse All facility if you have many table links opened. Selection List now has a Find and Find Next facility. To try this, open Sales/Accounts, right click in Selection List, search on ‘e-mail.’ User Defined Output is accessed by a right click in the Output Box. A field must already be selected in order to display the menu.
UDO definitions can now be saved and exported to other reports.
Report Query forms now have three labelled tabs, which makes them easier to navigate.
Additional Table Links
XRL now also links in to the following tables: SALLOC (Sales Allocation), SNOML (Sales Nominal Transfer), PALLOC (Purchase Allocation), PNOML (Purchase Nominal Transfer).
Unions
The Opera II Serduct will also be enhanced to include the following table unions (available for Opera II Enterprise SQL only):
SANAL and HSANAL (Sales Analysis and Sales History) and PANAL and HPANAL (Purchase Analysis and Purchase History).
