The latest version of Pegasus Opera 3, version 1.30, is now available and adds further functionality and added value to the software making it a big step up from Pegasus Opera II if you decide to upgrade. The future development schedule and continued support of Opera 3 will continue in 2012 so there will be more to come as well!

The key new features in 1.30 are Landed Costs and Retrospective Aged Debtors & Creditors Reporting which offer the ability to automatically calculate the total costs of imported goods (including freight, customers, insurance etc) and the functionality to report on your levels of debtors or creditors on a past date – a very useful tool for auditing purposes at period-end or year end.

One of the major parts of the Peagsus Opera 3 release was the inclusion of the Open Period Accounting functionality allowing you to easily post transactions from sales, purchase and nominal ledgers, as well as cashbook and payroll, into any open period from the current year or future 3 years and post into the prior year via the nominal ledger.

This means that you have full control over which period transactions are posted into and saves both time and effort as you can post transactions such as rent or rates ahead of time. You will have no concerns over security either as you are able to define which users can open and close periods.
